Learn the essential barista skills to get you started on your barista career. The course focuses on the key skills required to set your grinder, make espresso, and foam and texture milk for cappuccinos. The course also touches on some basic information on the daily care of your equipment.
This session is ideally suited to people new to the coffee industry or those looking to gain an insight into the broad subject matter of Barista Skills. No previous barista experience is required.
The course provides you with the key information to enable you to sit your Barista Skills Foundation certification that consists a written exam (15 questions with a pass rate of 60% required). Successful students will be awarded 5 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Program.
Introduction to Coffee is a recommended (but not mandatory) pre-requisite module. All knowledge and skill from these modules will be assumed as being held and may be tested through the practical and/or written assessments.
